About Wind in Japan

Japan is the world's fifth-largest emitter of CO2 and aims to achieve complete carbon neutrality by 2050. A significant push towards wind energy is considered key to meeting these targets. Offshore wind plays a vital role in Japan, boasting more than 35,000 km of coastline. The country aims to achieve an impressive 10 GW of offshore wind capacity by 2030 and between 30 GW and 45 GW by 2040. The Japanese government has been ensuring several attractive conditions for foreign companies. They are building renewable energy power generation facilities, conducting preliminary wind and seabed geology surveys, and taking the lead in coordinating with local governments and fishing communities.

Companies such as Vestas, Ørsted, GE, Tepco, Iberdrola, CIP, Equinor, Jera, and J-Power all have a focus on offshore prospects in Japan. The country is calling for more players, especially within the floating offshore wind farms power industry. Funding is available from Japan's publicly funded New Energy and Industry Technology Development Organization (NEDO). NEDO is oriented towards projects aimed at establishing underlying technologies to lower the cost of floating offshore wind power, with the goal of implementation by 2030.

Apart from its offshore plans, Japan already has many onshore turbines installed, with great potential for Operations and Maintenance (O&M), as many of the turbines are of Danish origin.

About Wind Expo

Wind Expo is the largest wind exhibition in East Asia, held in Tokyo. The exhibition serves as the region's most important meeting place for the industry outside of China. At the expo, you will find all the major players either as exhibitors or visitors.

The expo gathers a broad spectrum of manufacturers and trading companies specializing in components, system equipment, construction/transportation, analysis/measurement, offshore wind farm technology, O&M, and both large and small wind turbines. Professionals interested in business opportunities participate in the event.

In connection with the exhibition, the Danish Energy Export offers participation at a joint stand – The Pavilion Powered by Denmark. You can have your own stand starting from 8m2 and upwards, or you can participate with a poster stand.

The exhibition is tailored for those interested in East Asian offshore markets outside of China, the O&M market in Japan, sales of small wind turbines, and those looking to present themselves to the leading OEMs in the region and their local representatives.

Stand options:

Turnkey booth

A Turnkey Booth at The Pavilion – Powered by Denmark is the quickest and easiest path to success at an exhibition. The turnkey booth is great for you who would like your own exhibition area where you can invite your guests in. For you who prefer to stand alone without sharing space with others and would like space to showcase your products and services. We will take care of building up the stand, you just bring your own displays or brochures.

Co-exhibitor

Want to bring in a partner to join you at your booth? A Co-exhibitor solution is the perfect choice if you would like to highlight a subsidiary, a local agent, a subcontractor or similar at an exhibition. This option is only possible for Turnkey booth or rawspace builders, where both you and your Co-exhibitor will enjoy all the service benefits of Danish Energy Export and The Pavilion – Powered by Denmark.

Poster stand

Would you like to test the Pavilion exhibition concept, or are you tired of just “walking the floor” at a trade show without having a base where you can invite guests? There can be many reasons to participate with a poster solution at The Pavilion – Powered by Denmark. The poster solution is your alternative to being just a visitor or having your own larger booth. With a poster booth you get your own space. Here you can meet with customers and contacts, and be found by those you didn't know you should meet!
