Spanish Wind Power Market
Spain has become a leader in wind power, with over 30,000 MW of installed capacity as of 2023, making it one of the top wind energy producers in Europe. The country aims to increase its wind power capacity to 62 GW by 2030, including a significant push for offshore wind with an initial target of 3 GW. With abundant wind resources, particularly in regions like Galicia and the Canary Islands, Spain presents substantial opportunities for developers. Upcoming offshore wind auctions and a streamlined permitting process are expected to drive further growth. Spain's commitment to net-zero emissions by 2050 will continue to bolster wind energy investments, fostering innovation in floating wind turbines and energy storage solutions. The Spanish value chain is also very strong, with international leaders like Navantia Sinergies, Windar, and strong engineering companies like Sener that can become strategic partners for Danish companies not only for the Spanish market but internationally.
