Why Taiwan?
Taiwan has some of the best wind resources in the region and attractive natural geography for installation of offshore wind farms. Combined with the political trends, where the Taiwan government focus on development of renewable energy, which should replace 8 GW of existing nuclear power by 2027, gives Taiwan a perfect chance to become a key wind market in the region.
On 30th April 2018, Taiwan announced the results of the first large-scale offshore wind power auction with total awarded capacity of 3,5 MW project planned for completion between 2020 to 2025. The awarded companies are: CIP, Ørsted, Northland Power Incorparated/Yushan, Swancor/Macquarie, Taipower WPD. An additional 2GW planed capacity will be awarded later in 2018.
To meet the ambitious goals Taiwan is seeking for establishment of local wind power supply chain in cooperation with foreign companies, which gives Danish companies a perfect opportunity to became one of the key partners.
For the first time ever, the WindEnergy Kaohsiung from the 13 to 15 March 2019 is creating a platform for an exhibition, technical seminar, matchmaking and job fair.
