France has the second largest wind resource in Europe and with 16.6 GW of installed wind power capacity is the 4th largest wind power market in Europe.
France has a unique offshore potential: 11 mio. Km2 coast and the offshore market starts to grow; approx. 3 GW has been awarded through tenders (in 2012 and 2014), where the first wind farms are expected to be commissioned in 2021-2022.
SiemensGamesa has currently 2.5 GW of wind turbines in the order book for upcoming French offshore park installations. At the same time 96 MW floating wind turbine parks divided into four pilot projects.
In the coming years France aims to allocate 1 GW of offshore wind per year.
Join DWEA and the Danish Embassy in Paris and investigate the new opportunities on the upcoming offshore wind and meet the most important players in the market.
TENTATIVE PROGRAMME
September 21st
- The delegation participants arrive in Saint Nazaire, presentation of the habour and the habour eco-system.
- Site visit at GE + discussion with GE procurement responsible.
- Official Dinner with local stakeholders in Nantes.
September 22nd & 23rd
- Delegation visit at the Exhibition Seanergy in Nantes including meetings with local companies at the stand of Pays de la Loire , “private” meetings with major French and European developers and OEM’s at the fair including B2B speed-dating, participation in Floating OSW conference.
- RTE – TSO and Atlantique Offshore Energy (OSS), EDF Ren, Neopolia and Pôle Mer (clusters), Valeco/EnBW (confirmed)
- Grand Port Maritime, Ocean Winds (ENGIE & EDPR), SiemensGamesa, WPD Offshore, Bureau Veritas (tbc)
- Individual meetings (according to your wishes) with other companies beeing par of the exhibition
- Gala Dinner the evening of 22nd
September 24th – Optional
- Participation in Immersive technical visits of the region Pays de la Loire top industrial sites e.g. floating wind site
